பொருந்தாத கூட்டணி!

தேர்தல் வந்துவிட்டது! தவளைகள் கத்துகின்றன. மூன்றாவது அணி என்று தலைப்பு வைத்துக்கொண்டு சில அரசியல் கட்சிகள் பேரம் பேச துவங்கியுள்ளன. தமிழகத்தில் அ.தி.மு.க. தலைமையில் பா.ம.க. இகம். வகம். ம.தி.மு.க. ஆகியவை ஒன்று சேர்ந்து ஒரு அணியாக செயல் பட முடிவு எடுத்துள்ளன. இவைகளுக்குள் சீட்டு பிரிப்பு சண்டை முடிவதற்குள் தேர்தல் வாபஸ் நாள் நெருங்கிவிடும். அப்படியே தேர்தலில் ஒரு அணியாக போட்டி இட்டாலும் தேர்தல் முடிந்ததும் இகம். வகம். ஆகிய இரண்டும் எந்த முடிவையும் எங்களது பொலிட் பீரோ-வை கேட்டுக்கொண்டு தான் எடுப்போம் என்று சொல்லிவிடும். பா.ம.க. தனியாக 'பதவி பேரத்தில்' இறங்கும். அ.தி.மு.க.-வால்அதனை அடக்க முடியாது. அரசு உயர் மட்டத்தில் ம.தி.மு.க.-வை அனைத்துக் கட்சிகளுமே கழட்டிவிட பரிந்துரை செய்துள்ளதாக தெரிகிறது. 'திருமா'-வை அடக்கி விடுவார்கள். அவர் சும்மா டிரஸ் போட்டுகொண்டு போஸ் கொடுப்பதோடு சரி. இன்னும் எவ்வளவோ நாடகக் காட்சிகள் உள்ளன. பொறுமையாக பார்த்து ரசிப்போம்.

Community Providers combat TB!

I had been to one Govt. T.B. Sanatorium. There I saw inmates are playing Aadu Puli Aatam (Tiger-Goat play: A play with 3 vs 18 pawns) by using the free tablets given to them by the Government. When I asked them about it their reply was not convincing. The hospital staff's explanation was also unacceptable. If time permits, I thought, I should administer the tablets to these patients myself. But I was unable to do anything. Just I complained with the Hospital authorities. Friends said no improvement.

When I read in the Sunday Express that there are community providers registering themselves for voluntary service to combat TB, and they personally visit TB inflicted patients and see that they take the medicines regularly, I am really moved. The narrations of the community providers published in that newspaper under the caption DOT(s) MATRIX was very encouraging.

If the state TB officials and the community providers act in this fasion and with the same zeal and zest there is no doubt that this disease will be eradicated from this part of the land.

பாகிஸ்தானில் கொந்தளிப்பு!

பாகிஸ்தானில் நடப்பது குறித்து வரும் செய்திகளை படித்துப் பார்த்தால், எல்லாமே சுப்ரீம் கோர்ட் நீதிபதிகளைப் பற்றியதாகத்தான் இருக்கிறது. நவாஸ் ஷெரீப் குடும்பத்தினர் மீது சில தடைகள் விதிக்கப் பட்டதால் அவர் வீதிக்கு வந்திருக்கிறார். சர்தாரி இன்னும் சில ஜட்ஜுகளுக்கு நியமன உத்தரவு தரவில்லை ஏனென்றால் அவர்கள் வந்தால் அவர் மீது உள்ள ஊழல் வழக்குகளை திரும்பவும் எடுப்பார்கள் என்று பயமாம்! பழைய ஜனாதிபதிக்கு சில ஜட்ஜுகளை பிடிக்காததால் அவர்களை பதவியிலிருந்து தூக்கினார். கிலானிக்கு சில ஜட்ஜுகளை மட்டுமே பிடிக்கும். சில ஜட்ஜுகள் இயல்பாகவே தலிபான் ஆதரவு ஜட்ஜுகள். இதனால் தான், எப்பவும் ஆட்சியைக் கைப்பற்ற நினைக்கும் இராணுவம் சும்மா வேடிக்கை பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறது.
